Nearly 60 percent MPs in new Somali Federal Parliament will have deep criminal records

The chances of winning for a candidate with declared criminal cases in the Somali Federal Parliament 2022 is 85 per cent whereas for a candidate with a clean background, it is 15 percent.

This is due to the fact that the new Somali Federal Parliament will have close to half of its new Members of Parliament (MPs) with declared criminal cases.

Out of the 275 winners analysed in Somali Federal Parliament 2016, 27 MPs have declared criminal cases against themselves. This is an increase of 50 percent in the number of MPs with declared criminal cases since 2016.

These include cases related to committing culpable homicide, house trespass, robbery, criminal intimidation, Terrorism and member of evil doers.

As per the self-sworn affidavits submitted by the candidates at the time of filing nominations, the new Somali Federal Parliament has surpassed the previous two elections in electing MPs with criminal records and mostly getting help from Farmajo and his partners of crime Fahad YASIN , leader of Southwest Lafta Gareen, leader of Hirshabeele Ali Guudlaawe and leader of Galmudug QOOR QOOR and other leaders of Puntland and Jubaland are doing similar things in different fashion.

The figure is far more alarming when it comes to serious criminal cases. Around 165 (60 percent) winners this time will have declared serious criminal cases including cases related to rape, murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, crimes against women, etc.

Among the new Somali Federal Parliament, There are 3 MPs with declared cases related to murder (Ikran Tahliil ) and 20 winners with declared cases of attempt to murder

By some good politicians calculations, politicians with a criminal record are more likely to be elected than those with a clean slate — because, they have more illicit funds with which to buy votes.

Arguably, of course, Farmaajo Government is helping tainted military , NISA and Police officers or national politicians — among them many accused murderers, rapists and fraudsters — could create chaos in next parliament and make it even harder to get laws passed and they’ll destabilize Somalia.

United States Government and International community shall consider to Sanction, freeze assets and blacklist. those new criminals member of parliaments.
